Series: Strategies for ecological restoration of mangroves

Episode 1: Avoiding mangroves destruction - understanding and reducing pressures

April 13th

4:00pm (UTC+2)

Mangroves are very rich ecosystems that provide many ecosystem services to coastal communities: fisheries resources, firewood and construction wood, protection against coastal erosion, etc. Today, mangroves face many threats, prompting people to implement sustainable initiatives to reduce these pressures. This episode focuses on projects that counteract the destruction of mangroves: alternative resources and new respectful activities. These initiatives are also a way to raise awareness and mobilise local communities.
