Mediterranean Islands Collective

September 8th

5:15 – 7:15 pm

The Mediterranean Island Collective gathered the most influential actors in the protection of island areas to act from regional joining forces and experiences to produce a strategy that will serve as a basis for actions after year 2022. This project also foresees the implementation of various pilot actions on small islands, the capitalisation of which will also feed the strategy. IUCN, MedPAN, Conservatoire du littoral, Marilles Foundation and WWF Greece, all experienced organisations on island conservation will engage a session of consultation by country to adopt a bottom up approach and ensure the production of a strategy deeply linked to the ground reality and specific to every Mediterranean sub region. The MIC steering Committee will allow this collective to identify the axis of the strategy, set up an action plan and present the first result of the project triggering the initiative funded by MAVA foundation for nature.
