PATRONAGE
Building on the success of ICO Solutions project, launched in 2021 at the World Conservation Congress (IUCN) in Marseille, the Conservatoire du littoral and the Aix Marseille Provence ‘s Chamber of Commerce and Industry decided to pursue and amplify their discussions, to bring a more operational dimension to their locally-based partnership. This is how they came together to develop the Pataclet approach for the Southern region of France (Region SUD).
This initiative was born of the desire of these two public bodies to create links between local businesses and local associations with high-impact projects, to build partnerships for the preservation, enhancement and restoration of our islands, coastal and marine natural spaces.
Founded in 2024, Pataclet is a philanthropic association which aims to facilitate the implementation of concrete actions for the conservation and restoration of the environment and coastal, marine and island natural spaces in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, by raising awareness and fostering relationships between nature protection and economic development players, notably through local sponsorship (financial, material and human).
The association targets companies in the Aix-Marseille Provence metropolitan area, with priority given to VSEs/SMEs, and associations in the region SUD whose concrete projects have a positive impact on islands, coastal and marine areas and are:
- Located in the metropolitan or regional area
- Modest in size, accessible to all types of company (max. €15k)
- Short lead times (12 to 18 months)
On the one hand, the CCIAMP identifies and supports companies wishing to commit to a socially responsible approach relevant to their local area. On the other hand, the Conservatoire du littoral ensures the quality and relevance of the projects proposed by the associations. Together, the CCIAMP and the Conservatoire du littoral facilitate contact between businesses and associations sharing common values and objectives, willing to enter into a partnership to implementing high-impact projects on a local or regional scale.
Thanks to face-to-face events and an online platform that lists private players and associations committed to the preservation of their territory and indicates their resources and needs, Pataclet is positioned as a regional catalyst for environmental philanthropy. To develop sustainable partnerships, it places the encounter, collaboration and impact at the heart of the links forged between actors.
Occasional donations, long-term financing, skill-based sponsorship, equipment loans… Pataclet’s formulas are designed to encourage the involvement of all types of companies by making available the material or immaterial resources needed to carry out associations’ micro-projects.
