Series: Strategies for ecological restoration of mangroves
Episode 2: Active ecological restoration - innovations and challenges
April 20th
4:00pm (UTC+2)
The ecological restoration of mangroves allows the biodiversity and resilience of these ecosystems to be restored and promoted. The benefits are numerous; ecological, social and economic.
In this episode, we will discuss artificial colonisation, known as “active” colonisation, which is based on the seeding of mangrove propagules or the establishment of mangrove nurseries. Today, in order to maximise the effectiveness of replanting, innovative and sustainable approaches are emerging.
We will go into detail about these techniques, how to implement them and increase the chances of success.
